My name is Patrick, welcome to my website for drummers. If your like me you enjoy playing live music and your instrument of choice is a drum kit. We don't say set. Its a kit. Just like it isn't the big drum, its a bass drum. Anyhow this website is something for me to poke away at late at night when I am unable to bang on the drums. Not so much because of the neighbors all complaining. But more that my wife and daughter are asleep. So here we are, online looking to further my drumming skills with all you.

 

I didn't start playing until I was 47 years old (midlife crisis I guess) and now in my fifities I find the drums to be both enthralling and fun while challenging in both artisticly mentally as well as physically.

I started playing percussion in the 5th grade, I was the only one in the class that failed the music test in order to take on an instrument. I was so upset because I wanted to play the drums so badly. Well the teacher pulled me aside and handed me a brand new ludwig practice pad, and a brand new pair of sticks, Happiest day of my life.. see she figured no one in the class picked drums to play so it was only fitting, in my case MEANT TO BE. I played in my 1st Rock band in the 7th grade and we won the School Gong Show, which my parents got to hear me play the drum set for the first time. The next morning which was a Sunday, my Dad woke me up early so we could go pick up the Sunday News.. still confused why....My Dad looked at me and said "We're going to find you a Real drum set" see the one I was using was an old half put together borrowed kit from a friend at School. OMG I Could not believe what he just Told me.. Long story short We found a Slingerland kit out in West Bloomfield. 5 piece Blue Black swirl, all Zyldian cymbals . My God I was in heaven. He paid 650.00 back in 1978 that's a lot of money back then, I cherished them and as I got older I continued to use them in Every project I was involved in. In 1980 I placed 3rd in the Great American drum off at harpos, nearly 2400 drummers were entered. That's where I met a few big dogs and they carried me for a bit. In my Adult life I later sold the old Slingerlands in a garage sale of all things lol and I purchased a few other kits.. Premier Maple 5 piece Pearl Export with a Rack Ddrum Maple pocket kit, Finally my dream kit.. Ludwig Clear Vistalite, Bonham zep set, see Ludwig created these in 2012 limited kits were built, I was a lucky one,on a waiting list in a drum shop in Chicago and I made the purchase! Holy Moly what a kit 26" x14" Kick 14" x6" 10 lug superphonic 15" x12" rack 16x18" floor 18x18" floor Also Blue Olive badge I use Pearl direct drive Demon drive double pedal
