Jimmy Cobb Was A Giant Of Jazz

Jimmy Cobb's playing on several of Miles Davis' most popular and influential records— as well as his work with many other legendary Jazz artists, including John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, Wes Montgomery, Sarah Vaughan, Kenny Dorham, Wayne Shorter, Wynton Kelly, Hubert Laws, Art Pepper and more— made him one of the most sought-after drummers of the be-bop, post-bop and modern jazz eras. Before his recent death at the age of 91, Jimmy sat down with with Peter Erskine, Jeff Hamilton, Roy McCurdy, Colin Bailey and Gary Novak at Drum Channel to discuss his prolific career. He also performed with his bandmates from the Sarah Vaughn trio, Carl Schroeder and John Gianelli.
